People in Iran and across the globe are celebrating the Persian New Year or Nowruz. With the arrival of the new season, Iranians celebrate their tradition which is some three-millennia old. Many people prefer family get-togethers. Some others visit holy sites at the time of the New Year. The tradition is also celebrated in several other countries such as Iraq, Afghanistan and Albania. Nowruz marks the first day of the spring in the northern hemisphere.
